Are you Ready for El Capitan?

Before you update you need to know followings.


Can your Mac run El Capitan?

According to Apple: the minimum hardware requirements for OS X 10.11 El Capitan remain the same as they were for Yosemite. These are Macs that can run El Capitan:


  • iMac (Mid 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)


With OS X systems running:

  • OS X Snow Leopard (10.6.8)
  • OS X Lion (10.7)
  • OS X Mountain Lion (10.8)
  • OS X Mavericks (10.9)
  • OS X Yosemite (10.10)


To find out what OS X your Mac running you may do by clicking the Apple button in the upper-left corner of your Mac and choose “About This Mac”. You should see the following windows with information you can check to the requirements that is needed for an update.

Make sure you have at least 10GB of space before you will start the update.



  1. How to get El Capitan?

It will be available for download from the Mac App Story on Wednesday, September 30th.

  1. How much will it cost?

$0. But if you using OS you need to pay $19.99 to update it to OS X Snow Leopard before updating it to El Capitan.
